Feimster is a self-taught artist. His artistic talents include painting, sculpting, wood crafting, acting, and writing. Over the last 30 years, his painting and sculpture have been displayed in shows and galleries throughout the Northeast and Southeast region of the United States and the Caribbean. He has received awards, recognition, and honorable mentions not only for his artistic disciplines but his community involvement with the arts. His spiritual nature, driven by a deep and sensitive desire to create, has inspired and motivated him to be the diverse professional artist that he is today. Feimster was born in Statesville and is a graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham. Exhibit runs through Feb. 26. Call (704) 878-3337 for gallery hours.

Piedmont HealthCare's "Friday After Five" featuring The Catalinas

An extended season for Piedmont HealthCare's Friday After Five concerts. Final event of this season's popular summer street concert series featuring The Catalinas. Produced by the Downtown Statesville Development Corporation and the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce, the free concerts will be held the second and fourth Friday of the month through September 10th. Bring your lawn chair and your dancing shoes to enjoy a great evening of music with friends. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. The 2010 Concert Series is sponsored by Piedmont HealthCare, the City of Statesville, United Federal Credit Union and Silver Eagle Distributors.

Living History Weekend at Fort Dobbs: Diversions of the 18th Century British Soldier

Living history weekend. Join the provincial soldiers of Fort Dobbs as they find entertainment through period music, song and games! Demonstrations of military drill and camp life are also featured throughout the day. 10-4 Saturday and Sunday. This Living History Weekend runs Saturday-Sunday.
