In hopes of raising some money for Barry Whitesides and his family during their difficult journey as he tries to recover from a severe accident, we are opening our doors to do Holiday Tours in the Academy Hill Historic District of Statesville. Four amazing homes will be open in this tour. Several are in the process of renovation but we are glad to have you step over the rubble and back in time with us.
624 S Mulberry Street – the JC Steele House
612 S Mulberry Street – the CM Steele House
606 S Mulberry Street – the Montgomery House
502 S Mulberry Street- the HO Steele and Eisele House.
No children under 12, no strollers or high heels, no backpacks. Tickets available online through Eventbrite, at Bonita’s Alterations at Front and Mulberry street, and at Wine Maestros starting 11/13. Tickets can be purchased at any of these homes day of. In person tickets must be paid for in cash.
We hope to generate renewed interest in a Holiday Historic Home Tour and plan this to only be our first annual. These homes were largely abandoned and in serious disrepair but they have been given a second chance at life. The community has been so encouraging… we are glad to share this event with all of you.
You can kick back and enjoy the tunes and mingle with friends or hit the dance floor and cut a rug to some of your all-time favorites. This is going to be an awesome night of food, music, and dancing. And it’s all for a great, local charity, Yokefellow Ministry!
Dinner is being catered by Uncle C’s BBQ and will include water, tea, and soft drinks. There will also be a cash bar available (beer and wine), managed by the Rotary Club of Statesville Fourth Creek. If you prefer a salad instead of BBQ, please indicate in the available field when purchasing your tickets.
You can choose your table when purchasing your tickets. The site defaults to the best available seat, but you can select other seats. Please note that your seats will be at the table you choose, but we can’t guarantee you’ll have the exact seat at that table. Also, you cannot pick your seats if booking from a mobile device, you will be assigned the best available seat. You will need to book from a desktop or laptop to be able to select a specific table.
Doors open at 6:30 with dinner starting at 7 pm. The Catalinas will get the real parted started at 8 pm and play until 11 pm.
Along with dinner, music, and dancing there will be a silent auction and a raffle for a variety of themed baskets just in time for the holidays.
The exhibit incorporates art with hands-on, family-friendly activities to transport you back in time to the days of the North Carolina backwoods and Daniel Boone. The exhibit is built around paintings from local artist, Robert Crum’s collection of portraits depicting the various people and perspectives of those who lived in this area.
