Downtown Statesville has a lot of beautiful buildings and
landmarks including the original comer stone from the 1700's. A walking tour,
scavenger hunt or something along those lines might interest them. There
is also a fresco located at the “A Walk Back in Time" is a
self-guided walking tour of the downtown area featuring information on the area's
history, buildings and unique architecture. The tour takes about two hours but
you may want to split it up, stop for lunch or ice cream, shop,
etc. The players are available for rent at the Iredell County Library at the corner of Tradd and
Water Streets. Also in Downtown Statesville is the Fort
Dobbs State Historic Site is the location of the only French and
Indian War fort in Lake Norman State Park has
a swimming area, hiking trails, mountain bike trail, picnic areas and boat

City of Statesville Recreation & Parks Department has
a variety of parks with playground equipment and walking trails in addition to athletic fields. The
Iredell County Recreation Department offers
a ropes course that can be tailored for team building for youth

is located on Hwy 115/Center Street on the northern end
of town. They have video games, batting cage, and some rides inside
but I'm not sure what the age/size cut-off is for those. Available for
group parties and rental. Newtowne Miniature Golf is a
seasonal facility featuring two putt-putt type courses. Located in Marquee Cinema is
a new 10 theater facility located off Iredell Museums, Inc. offers exhibits, special events and other activities that may be of interest. Zootastic Park recently celebrated it's grand opening. Zootastic is a facility and zoo featuring both exotic and barnyard type animals located in the beautiful North Carolina countryside and will delight all ages. Join us at an information meeting to be held August 2nd beginning at 6:30 pm at the Fleet Fee Sports, 1776 North Center Street, to learn more about the Team In Training program. We train beginners to seasoned athletes to complete a marathon, half marathon, triathlon, century ride, or hike. We provide coaching, training schedules, and 1-2 weekly team trainings. We also cover all expenses including flight (if applicable), hotel, race entry, two dinners, race singlet, and much more. In return, you raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are gearing up for our winter season, which will begin mid-August. We will be training for the Kiawah Island Marathon & Half (Dec 11th) and the Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon (Jan 8-9). 10th Annual Statesville Criterium Bike Race

Tenth annual event! Professional and amateur cyclists compete in one of the most thrilling, spectator-friendly racing events in the cycling sport through the streets of Downtown Statesville.
